Dear Competitors,

We hope this message finds you well as we approach the much-anticipated IPSC World Shoot in South Africa.

We would like to provide an important update regarding firearm and ammunition importation. Initially, the South African Police Service (SAPS) had agreed to allow up to four handguns per person, with no restrictions on ammunition provided the SAPS 540 form was completed. Unfortunately, this position has since been revised.

SAPS has now confirmed a maximum allowance of four firearms, limited to two calibers, and a cap of 500 rounds of ammunition per person.

While this change is regrettable, it reflects the current regulatory stance.

As organizers, we remain fully committed to resolving this matter and continue to engage with SAPS in hopes of reaching a more favorable outcome.

Please rest assured that all submitted permits have already been forwarded to SAPS and are currently being processed. We understand the frustration this may cause, especially with the match so close, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. We are receiving approved permits on an almost daily basis and as soon as they are received it will be sent out.

We thank you for bearing with us during this time and will keep you updated with any developments.
