2025 HANDGUN WORLD SHOOT – IMPORTANT MESSAGE
Dear Competitors,
As we approach the conclusion of this exciting match, we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks for your patience and participation. For those who have completed their events, we hope you thoroughly enjoyed the experience. For those still competing, we wish you the very best of luck in the final stages.
With many of you preparing to depart soon, we kindly urge you to arrive timeously at the airport to allow sufficient time for firearm-related procedures and check-in formalities.
We also ask that you carefully verify your temporary import/export permits, ensuring that your passport number and firearm serial numbers match the details on your permit. This is a precautionary measure to help ensure a smooth check-in process with your airline.
If you find any discrepancies between your passport number or serial number and the permit, please contact [email protected] immediately for assistance. If there are discrepancies, take a photo of your incorrect permit with the changes done with a black pen. Kindly note that only queries relating to discrepancies will be responded to via this email address. This is the only channel for resolving such issues.
Departure Procedure
When arriving at the airport:
1) Proceed directly to your airline’s check-in counter, at least 3 hours before your departure time.
2) Inform the staff that you are traveling with a firearm(s) and possibly ammunition.
3) After check-in, airport security will escort you to a designated police office.
4) The police will verify your firearm’s serial number against your temporary permit.
Please note:
* There is no fee for this verification process.
* In accordance with South African law, firearms and ammunition must be packed separately.
* If you are checking in two bags plus your firearm, you may be charged for a third piece of luggage, depending on your airline’s baggage policy and travel class.
We appreciate your cooperation and hope you had a memorable time at the match. Safe travels, and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
Best Regards
Mo Osman
